Impressive Irish drama about young mother Sandra (Clare Dunne) who escapes from an abusive husband with her two daughters. She ends up in the social housing project, but due to the scarcity on the housing market, she is homeless for the time being and forced to camp in a hotel room. Determined to provide her young daughters with a nice home and a better life, Sandra sets her sights on building a house of her own. A generous offer from a woman she cleans for, a retired doctor (Harriet Walter), makes that dream come true. She bumps into a contractor who offers to support her with the practicalities of construction. Without any experience, but with a special group of friends, Sandra starts the adventure. At the same time, she must escape the clutches of her possessive ex-husband and keep him away from her and her girls.
