In a time of turmoil and agitation due to police brutality, the award-winning action-thriller Shorta (‘police’ in slang) outlines a not so unrealistic situation. After the death of 19-year-old Talib Ben Hassi, tension rises in the Danish streets. Police officers Jens and Mike are on routine patrol in the Svalegården ghetto when the news of Talib's death comes out. The news unleashes an uncontrollable frenzy among the youth of the neighborhood. Someone must be held responsible for the death of this black teenager, and the youths ponder revenge. The decent Jens and the incredibly racist Mike find no easy escape as the angry mob suddenly has them in its sights. The two cops must fight tooth and nail to find a way out of the increasingly threatening situation.
