Mestmoeders

When a young farm successor dies, his sister unexpectedly faces a difficult choice. The death of her brother causes the relationships in the family to shift, where the farmer's wife has been at the helm for generations. A heavy task rests on the shoulders of the youngest. Will she continue the business of her “manure mothers” (mestmoeders) or must she decide to turn out the lights? Mestmoeders is a musical theatre film by the northern theatre company Peergroup about how a young farmer's wife must relate to the future: continue on the familiar path or opt for more sustainable agriculture? Not being bothered by climate change or nitrogen debates or 'demolish' what your parents have built up?
