After all the successes of his band De Hûnekop, singer Emiel Stoffers has become an arrogant, egotistical, narcissistic, womanizing, homophobic, coke-sniffing misfit. When a serial killer is targeting Frisian artists, detective Goaitske comes to warn Emiel. He falls for her like a log. In response to the threat, Emiel bombards the homeless Freddy, his regular handyman, to become the new singer of the Hûnekop so that he himself remains out of harm's way. Freddy does not understand Frysk and so has no idea what is going on. He turns out to be a fantastic singer and gradually takes over Emiel's life (the band, the friends, and even the dog). Emiel will have to change to get his life back and catch the killer. Director Janko Krist, known from Hea! and Man bijt hond, presents Stjer, an action-comedy for and by real Frisians.
