Desperately trying to escape his disappointing life and to overcome his midlife crisis, Martin flees into the Norwegian mountains. Living away from society, hunting, and gathering like his ancestors the Vikings used to, before supermarkets and smartphones ruined everything, he quickly has to realize that he’s definitely not made for survival in the wild. When he encounters an injured drug dealer named Musa who is on the run, the odd duo decide to join forces. A tumultuous journey across the fjords begins, as the couple is chased by the police, Musa’s rivals, and Martin’s family. This black, slightly Coen-ish comedy is set against the backdrop of the wild, Norwegian nature, which is just as enchanting as the well drawn-out characters. Wild Men is another stellar movie from the autodidactic Danish director Thomas Daneskov, that premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in New York this summer.
