Gracious Night (1h 30min.)

The pandemic caused people to work from home, wear masks and... make movies about the pandemic. Fortunately for us, director Kaurismäki is as fed up with the subject as anyone else and in Gracious Night the virus is nothing more than an invitation for the three Finnish actors to get together. When bar owner Heikki comes under financial pressure because of the lockdown, he spends what might be the last night in his bar, with a friend and a stranger. As the bottles get emptier and the discussions go deeper, more and more untold stories emerge. These are stories that continue to develop and take a natural course, given that, according to the director, there was no script. A light-hearted, signature Kaurismäki drama, considering the film has striking similarities to Kaurismäki's 2008 Three Wise Men.
