Huizum op film

The old village of Huizum arose on a 'terp' (mound) south of Leeuwarden. People have lived here for more than a thousand years. In the last century, the village was taken up by the city of Leeuwarden. Nowadays Huizum consists of three parts: the districts Huizum-West and Huizum-East, situated on both sides of the (Verlengde) Schrans, and the former village Huizum, south of the small river Potmarge. The Frisian Film & Audio Archive has selected the most beautiful historical footage of the village, its districts and its inhabitants, and made a unique compilation, with a Dutch voice-over by Alexander Burger and a beautiful soundtrack, composed by Sjoukje Visser.
